Vector Skiff Assault

**Vector Skiff Assault** is a vector-line arcade heist on the high seas, drawn in thin neon lines on black like an old Vectrex.

You and the crew of the *Lagan Lass*, out of Belfast Lough, chase cargo ships in a speedboat. Match the ship's speed, get in close under the hull, and throw a grapple ladder. Hold your boat under it while your climbers go up, then crack the ship's safe one tumbler at a time.

The ships fight back with high-pressure hoses that swamp your boat, crew who chop your ladders down, and big hulls that swing in to ram you. You never hurt anyone. Your warning shots go over their heads, so the hoses stop and the crew dive for cover, but keep firing and your gun overheats.

 **Three kinds of ship:** a quick feeder container ship that runs and weaves, a huge, slow VLCC oil tanker whose wake drags you in, and a tall LNG carrier with water walls and a security crew.

**The navy arrives at wave 4.** Frigates drop box barrages that throw you off course, and a corvette cuts in between you and the hull. Fire over a frigate's bridge to jam its radar so its next barrage misses.

**The getaway:** cracking the safe isn't the end. An anti-piracy helicopter chases you down, raking the water with machine-gun bursts. Get off its red strafing line, outrun it to bank the cash, and grab an extinguisher if the boat catches fire.

**The black market:** spend your ransom on engines, hull, titanium hooks and a bilge pump, and hire a Helmsman, a Climber and a Look-out with a radar.
